Welcome to my May Wrap-Up. I’ll take you through my most recent work, give an update on my 2021 reading list, and share other reflections on the past month.
May is nearly over, and it’s been another busy month. I started a new job, and I am really enjoying it! My stress levels are lower even though my schedule is a bit more full. Still, I managed to make some headway on my reading list and started some new art!
I’m still battling some hand and joint pain, so I’m taking it easy until I’m able to get it checked out. However, I still managed to put together a new piece inspired by views here in Colorado. This watercolor and ink illustration is called The Dillon Reservoir, and its one of my first larger pieces in this style, at 9x12in. on Aquabord. Check it out in my shop, if you’re so inclined.
2021 Reading List Update
I finally completed Harriet A. Washington’s Medical Apartheid. While I did take some History of Medicine courses in college, this was really an eye opening read. I definitely recommend it. I’m not quite sure what is next on my list - I am hoping to get a copy of Michelle Zauner’s Crying in H Mart: A Memoir one of these days. Let me know if you have any recommendations!
That’s all I have to share for now. I hope to keep up on blog posts and new art over the summer, especially as I get outside and take new reference photos around Colorado. There may also be a website redesign in store, so stay tuned!
Until next month,
