Upcoming Event: MCL Comic Con

Mesa County Libraries Comic Con 2019

For the past two years, I have been involved in the Mesa County Libraries Comic Con. First, I joined as a panelist to discuss queer representation in the media. In 2019, we discussed queer representation again, and I also ran a booth in the Expo Hall. This year, due to COVID-19, Mesa County Libraries decided not to hold Comic Con in person. I applaud them for this action, even though I am disappointed that I won’t be able to join my friends for a day to celebrate comics in Grand Junction.

The good news is, Mesa County Libraries is launching Comic Con at Home 2020, a completely virtual event. I invite all of my friends to check it out this free, family-friendly event. There will be a virtual Cosplay Contest, a Graphic Novel Reading Challenge (for all ages), trivia, the annual art show, panels provided via Zoom, and more. Plus, Søren Gray Studios will be featured in the virtual Expo Hall along with a number of other artists, authors, crafters, and more!
